Hosted a twelve-week virtual residency for creatives working at the intersections of art, race, and faith.
The idea for the Inbreak Residency began with Brianna Kinsman, Dea Studios's (DS) Director of Liturgical Expressions, and Dea Jenkins, DS's CEO. Together they crafted a space that would allow creatives to safely and bravely explore the intersections of art, race, and faith. This included creating a program and curriculum from scratch. They also worked with a curator, Naomi Stewart, to develop the residency's culminating exhibition, "Into the Deep, Unto the New" (IDUN). Both the residency and the exhibition were virtual experiences that simultaneously leaned heavily into emerging technologies and encouraged participants and guests to engage in embodied practices in the exploration of challenging subjects.
"this residency has been really, really good for me to spread my wings"
